Sweet O'Clock is a Taiwanese dessert shop located in North York, just south of Yonge and Finch. This dessert shop is well known for their freshly handmade taro balls, herbal jellies and tofu puddings, not to mention other sweet treats such as shaved ice desserts and a wide variety of cold drinks.

Recently, Sweet O'Clock has introduced a food menu that serves delicious Taiwanese meals for dining in or take out. I had the opportunity to come by and get a taste of their new food menu along with their drinks and desserts.

Roast Milk Tea with Tapioca and Grass Jelly
+ Mango Pomelo Juice
These drinks were very refreshing and not too sweet. I got the Mango Pomelo Juice which came with bits of the Pomelo inside.

Prawn Skewers ($5.99)
These prawns were very big and tasty. The sauce had a sweet and tangy flavour and I liked the pieces of green pepper which added a nice balance of slight bitterness.

Japanese Style Beef Short Ribs ($11.99) | Pan fried short ribs marinated in a Japanese sauce.

The short ribs reminded me of Kalbi, which are Korean short ribs, but a sweeter version. The flavour was nice but the ribs were a bit chewy and the sauce was pretty sticky on the fingers. I really liked the fried sunset egg on top of the rice which was cooked perfectly with a nice runny yolk. The deep fried tofu and pickled daikon were great sides to this dish. For the price and the amount of food you get, it's a great deal and perfect for lunch/dinner.

Taiwanese Style Popcorn Chicken ($6.99)

This dish was my favourite! The popcorn chicken was very crispy with delicious flavours from the Asian spices. This is a must-have!

Mix Fruits Snowflake ($8.99)
This dessert contained strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, bananas and condensed milk. The shaved ice cream was really light and fluffy, just like snow! I loved how this dessert wasn't too sweet but just perfect. I highly recommend this!
Mud Pie ($8.99)
This dessert tasted similar to a tiramisu. Just like the Mix Fruits Snowflake, this had the perfect amount of sweetness. It contained lady fingers, slices of bananas and a custard cream on top which was very light and delicious!
Overall, I think Sweet O'Clock did a great job introducing their food menu because they have a wide selection of tasty dishes at reasonable prices. Now diners can enjoy a delicious meal along with their drinks and dessert after.
