During our vacation in Oahu we stayed at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa, which was located directly in front of Waikiki Beach and all the shops. The resort was very big and had three restaurants for guests to enjoy during their stay. Situated on the 3rd floor of the hotel was Swim, a poolside bar and lounge that offered live music, refreshing cocktails and classic American dishes.

On our second night, we wanted to check out Swim for some cocktails before our dinner reservations at Top of Waikiki. The bar was right next to the pool area and had indoor and outdoor seating. There were lounge chairs throughout the place which is perfect for those who want to lay back and enjoy the sun and cocktails.

Mango Daiquiri

A delicious frozen blend of cruzan light rum, 

lemon juice, and mango puree

Ice cold refreshing daiquiri with a delicious mango taste. Loved it!

Well Cocktails Mai Tai

Coconut, passion fruit, pineapple mango and cruzan light rum

If you like strong cocktails, you will like Mai Tai. Unfortunately for me, it was a bit too strong. I did, however, like the hints of tropical juices in the drink.

It was nice sitting on the patio because we had a cool ocean breeze and a gorgeous view of the sunset sky.

A few days later, we went back to Swim for a second time to receive a complimentary champagne bottle that was given to us by the hotel. Awesome!



During our visit, there was a live performance by a band named Kailua Bay Boys who were taking requests and singing the songs. Wonderful performance!

Buffalo Chicken Wings ($14) 

Jumbo size, crumbled bleu cheese and celery shavings

These wings were fantastic! The Buffalo sauce had a mouthwatering tangy flavour with a bit of heat, and the chicken wings were huge and very juicy. They were so good that we had to order another one even though we had dinner plans right after!

There's nothing better than having refreshing drinks, delicious food, great live music and the perfect patio spot to relax. We really enjoyed our experience at Swim and would recommend guests staying at the hotel to visit the bar to have a great time.
