Canoe is a part of the restaurant company Oliver & Bonacini and it is considered to be among Toronto's best restaurants to dine at. The restaurant is located in the Financial District and is on the 54th floor of the Toronto-Dominion Centre, offering guests a beautiful view of downtown Toronto. You will find many Bay Street professionals dining here during lunch time and after work for dinner and drinks.

My boyfriend heard many great reviews from his colleagues and had decided to bring me to Canoe for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The interior of the restaurant looked very modern and upscale, with large windows showing Toronto's stunning city lights. Our waiter was very attentive and informative, describing the menu items in great detail. For our appetizers, we ordered Wellington Ontario Beef Tenderloin Tartare and Oyster Boy's Finest Half Dozen. For our mains, we both ordered steak dishes which are no longer on their menu. And for drinks, he ordered a glass red wine and I ordered a martini.

Wellington Ontario Beef Tenderloin Tartare ($24). Applewood smoked bacon, pretzel toast + Forbes’ wild flavours.
The tartare was very light in flavour and tasted great with the smoked bacon and toast.

Oyster Boy’s Finest Half Dozen ($19). 54 smoker + shallot vinegar.
Deliciously refreshing oysters that were perfectly shucked.

This was my steak dish which came with cooked carrots and potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and it melted in my mouth with all the succulent juices. Absolutely wonderful!

My boyfriend ordered this steak dish which came with Gai lan (Chinese broccoli) and potato gratin. He very much enjoyed his steak as well.

Our waiter brought us a pretty plate of small desserts, wishing us a Happy Anniversary!

We had a lovely experience at Canoe, from the beautiful night view to the exquisite food. Canoe is definitely a great place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and other special events. With Winterlicious around the corner, it's a great time to check out Canoe if you haven't already!
