On the third day, we went on the Statue of Liberty Tour which included the ferry to Liberty Island and Ellis Island Immigration Museum on Ellis Island ($25 each). We originally wanted to access the Statue of Liberty Crown, but the tickets were all sold out since it was the long weekend.

The day was very hot and humid so we freshened up with Bill's Lemonade!

After the tour, we went to Chinatown to have lunch at the famous Joe's Shanghai! We were very lucky to be seated in less than 1 minute because the restaurant was very busy for lunch time.

Dishes we ordered:
  • 2 orders of Soup Dumpling - 8 dumplings ($5.95 each order)
  • Eggplant with Garlic Sauce and Pork ($10.95)
  • Szechuan Beef Casserole ($13.95)
Oh my goodness, the soup dumplings were unbelievable!! I've never tasted anything quite like this. The soup dumplings were so light, juicy and savory, and that is why we ordered another batch! omnomnom... And we can't forget the eggplant and Szechuan beef which were just as amazing as the soup dumplings! I don't think I'll ever find a Chinese restaurant in Toronto as good as Joe's Shanghai. Why do all the best restaurants have to be outside of Toronto?! Lol.

After a long day, we headed back to the hotel to rest before going to a nice restaurant for our last night in New York. We chose Quality Meats because the reviews were great and it was walking distance from our hotel. The interior of the restaurant was very modern with a classy touch.

Drinks:
  • 2 glasses of Old Parcel 2011 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley, Oregon ($15 per glass)
Appetizers:
  • Traditional Steak Tartare ($16)
  • Hamachi Sashimi ($17)
Main Course and Sides:
  • 2 Filet Mignon 12 oz. - medium rare ($44 each)
  • Sauteed Spinach ($11)
  • The Quality Potato - cheesy mashed potatoes with chips ($10)
The appetizers were beautifully presented and they tasted great! The Traditional Steak Tartare came unseasoned with a side of assorted seasonings to choose from. The Hamachi Sashimi was light and refreshingly tasty, with thinly sliced apples and jalapeno peppers. The Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked medium rare, making it very juicy and tender. And the sides were very delicious, enough for 2 people to share. We were really happy with our experience at Quality Meats, from the food to the service, and we recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a wonderful steakhouse in New York!
