Cuisine: Korean street food

What can I say about Korean street food? It's the best! In the summertime you can see so many street vendors offering different goodies to snack on, from potato tornadoes to good old tteokbokki. Tteokbokki is a Korean snack made of soft rice cakes cooked in a spicy and sweet chili sauce, with vegetables and fish cakes. Many of the tteokbokki stands also sell deep fried shrimp, squid and vegetables in a batter, Korean pancakes, blood sausages (sundae) and fish cake soup (odeng tang). What's awesome is that when you order tteokbokki and a fish cake on the side, you usually get free fish cake soup which is self serve and refillable! Eating the tteokbokki and odeng tang is even better in the Winter when it's cold and you just want to warm up with something hot and spicy. If you can't handle spicy food, you might want to try tteokbokki at a restaurant that sells it and ask for a less spicier version because the tteokbokki at the stands can be quite spicy, coming from someone who loves the heat!

Looking at this again makes my mouth water!
